Density 2.25g/ml
Refractive Index: 1.50
Sensitivity: Hygroscopic. Ambient temperatures.
Solubility: Soluble in water, alcohol
Application
Zinc perchlorate hexahydrate, efficiently catalyses the esterification between nearly equimolar amounts of carboxylic acids and alcoholsZinc perchlorate hexahydrate [Zn (ClO4) 2· 6H2O] was found to be a highly efficient catalyst for acylation of electron deficient phenols, sterically hindered alcohols and electron deficient and sterically hindered amines. Zinc (II) perchlorate hexahydrate has been found to be a new and efficient catalyst for conjugate addition of thiols to α, β-unsaturated ketones under solvent-free conditions at room temperature.
