Technical Description of nickel oxide


Nano nickel oxide is prepared by high frequency plasma gas combustion method. The product has high purity, small particle size, uniform distribution, large specific surface area, high surface activity, low loose packing density, and gas phase method, which overcomes the shortcomings of hard agglomeration, difficult dispersion and low purity of particles prepared by wet chemical method on the market.


As a kind of functional material, nano nickel oxide is mainly used as catalyst, semiconductor material (pressure sensitive, thermal sensitive element), magnetic material, glass and ceramic colorant and other raw materials in industry.


Application of nickel oxide


1.Catalyst:  Nano NiO is a kind of good catalysis oxidation catalyst, Ni2 + 3 d orbitals, has the merit of multi-electron oxygen adsorption tendency, also have activation to other reductive gases, and catalytic effect to the reduction of gas O2, in the synthesis of organic matter decomposition, in the process of transformation, such as gasoline hydrogenation cracking is hydrocarbon conversion in petrochemical process, heavy oil hydrogenation process,  NiO is a good catalyst.  In the catalytic combustion of natural gas, NiO/CuO -- Zr02 composite catalyst was used to improve its high temperature stability in order to avoid the oxidation of N2 in the air to NOx and the generation of incomplete combustion CO.  In the process of preparing carbon nanotubes, NiO/Si02 composite catalyst is used, and when Ni content is high, the synthesized carbon nanotubes have high yield and narrow diameter distribution, and the content and shape of NiO directly affect the yield and properties of carbon nanotubes.  In wastewater treatment, NiO is a catalyst to remove CH4, cyanide and N2 and promote NOx decomposition.  As a photocatalytic catalyst for the degradation of acid red, NiO is very effective in the treatment of organic dye wastewater.


2.Ceramic additive and glass dye: NiO is used in ceramic products to improve its impact force. When NiO(O. 02(WT) %) is added, it can also improve the electrical properties of materials, such as piezoelectric properties and dielectric properties.  Adding NiO to glass is mainly to control the color of the glass. A small amount of NiO is contained in the stable brown transparent glass that can absorb ultraviolet light.  Transparent glass mirror and decorative glass are added with appropriate amount of NiO as colorant.


3.Battery electrode: With the continuous development of communication and information technology, capacitors also have to develop.  Nowadays capacitors have become a research hotspot because they have much higher energy density than electrostatic capacitors and much higher power density than traditional chemical power sources.  Ruthenium oxide is one of the most widely studied electrochemical capacitor electrode materials with good performance, but its large scale application is hindered by its high price.  And the high internal resistance of activated carbon makes people focus on transition metal oxides.  Transition metal oxides are used as electrode materials for capacitors because of their quasi-capacitive properties.  At present, the battery electrode materials made of Ni, Mn, Co and other oxides with low internal resistance, low price and large specific capacity have attracted much attention.  With NiO as cathode and gas or natural gas as fuel, carbonate molten salt fuel cell is a kind of clean energy with higher power generation efficiency than traditional thermal power generation.  Moreover, compared with ordinary NiO battery, the nano NiO battery has obvious discharge advantage, the discharge capacity increases obviously, and the electrochemical performance of electrode is improved.

4.Sensor: NiO is a gas sensor material that has received more and more attention in recent years.  At present, formaldehyde sensors, CO sensors and H2 sensors made of nano NiO have been used in practical production.
