Generally, pure aluminum with a purity (aluminum content) greater than 99.8% is called high-purity aluminum. It is produced using high-quality refined aluminum as a raw material and a directional solidification refining method. High-purity aluminum can be subdivided into sub-ultra-high-purity aluminum (aluminum content of 99.5% to 99.95%), ultra-high-purity aluminum (aluminum content of 99.996% to 99.999%) and extremely high-purity aluminum (aluminum content of more than 99.999%). High-purity aluminum is silver-white, with a smooth surface, clear crystal lines, and no inclusions. High-purity aluminum has properties such as low deformation resistance, high electrical conductivity and good plasticity. It is mainly used in scientific research, electronics industry, chemical industry and the manufacture of high-purity alloys, laser materials and some other special purposes. Products are generally supplied as semi-circular ingots or long slab ingots. The weight of each semi-circular ingot is not less than 45kg. The weight of each long slab ingot is not more than 25kg. The cross-sectional size of the long slab ingot is generally 200mm*65mm, and the length is not more than 600mm.

4. The construction of industrial structure is unreasonable, repeated construction is serious, and resources are wasted. Primary aluminum production has been launched one after another, while aluminum alloys and high-purity aluminum with high added value have been left out.

5. There are serious environmental problems. Some enterprises adopt backward self-groove technology, which does not meet the requirements for the development of environmentally-friendly aluminum plants, and is facing suspension of business for rectification.

6. China's aluminum industry lacks international competitiveness, high cost, and low competitiveness.

As high-tech, high-value-added pure aluminum meets this requirement, many aluminum factories have put the launch of high-purity aluminum projects on the agenda.Compared with traditional primary processed aluminum ingots, the production of high-purity aluminum has higher product added value and profit margins. High-purity aluminum refers to aluminum with an Al content of ≥99.999% (5N). High-purity aluminum has many excellent properties and is widely used. It has better conductivity, ductility, reflectivity and corrosion resistance than primary aluminum, and has a wide range of uses in the electronics industry and aerospace and other fields. In the electronics industry, it is used to make aluminum foils for high-voltage capacitors, high-performance wires, and bonding wires for integrated circuits; in the aerospace industry, high-purity aluminum is used to develop and manufacture plasma sails (the latest power to promote spacecraft); in high-speed rail transit In addition to the need to use high-purity aluminum to prepare high-performance alloys, high-speed rail transit vehicles are also widely used in magnetic suspension materials due to their low magnetic permeability and light specific gravity. Foreign countries are also studying the use of high-purity aluminum as the reflective surface of large-scale astronomical telescopes.
