Application
Chromium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as a catalyst, as a mordant in printing and dyeing industry. It is involved in the preparation of anhydrous tetrahydrofuran complex of chromium(III) chloride by reacting with trimethylsilylchloride. It finds application in the manufacturing of a variety of chromium-containing pigment in Paint industry and other chromium salts in the chemical industry.
