Zinc oxide is an oxide of zinc, insoluble in water, soluble in acid and strong base. It is white solid, so also known as white. It can be obtained by burning zinc or calcined sphalerite (zinc sulfide). In nature, zinc oxide is the main component of red zinc ore.
