Characteristic
Ruthenium(III) Nitrosyl Chloride Hydrate is a highly insoluble thermally stable Ruthenium source suitable for glass, optic and ceramic applications. Chloride compounds can conduct electricity when fused or dissolved in water. Chloride materials can be decomposed by electrolysis to chlorine gas and the metal. They are formed through various chlorination processes whereby at least one chlorine anion (Cl-) is covalently bonded to the relevant metal or cation.
Formula: Ru(NO)Cl3•xH2O
Formula weight: 237.44 g/mol(anhy)
Appearance:Dark red to dark brown powder
Melting Point: 180°C.
Sensitivity: Ambient temperatures.
Form: Crystalline
Solubility: Soluble in water.
Application
Used as catalyst. As a precursor to other compounds.
