Gold and nickel alloy is a binary alloy with nickel added on the gold base. It is a continuous solid solution above 850℃, which is decomposed into two phase solid solutions rich in gold and nickel at low temperature.
There are AuNi5, AuNi9, AuNil0 and AuNi18.
Application
Widely used as light and medium load electrical contact materials;AuNil8, AuNi45, etc., used as electric vacuum filler metal, brazed aircraft engine blades.
