Precipitated silica commonly known as silica black, also known as hydrated silica, light silicon dioxide, chemical expression is generally written as mSiO₂·nH₂O, the appearance of white highly dispersed amorphous powder, also processed into particles as a commodity.Soluble in caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid. Stable to other chemicals, resistant to high temperature, no decomposition, no combustion. High electrical insulation, porous, large internal surface area, water absorption, non-toxic.

Application

 

Silicic acid hydrate is used for studying neurodegenerative diseases due to its ability to inhibit aluminum uptake. It is utilized for the manufacture catalyst and catalyst carrier. It is involved in tungsten filament production as chemical reagent and flux. Further, it is used for oil and wax decoloring.
