Application

 

Lanthanum chloride solutions are used in various water treatment applications. It is also used in biochemical research. Doped with cerium, it is applied as a scintillator material. In organic synthesis, lanthanum trichloride functions as a mild lewis acid. This compound is used in gamma detectors.
