Lanthanum aluminate is an inorganic compound with the formula LaAlO3, often abbreviated as LAO. It is an optically transparent ceramic oxide with a distorted perovskite structure.

Solubility in water:Insoluble in mineral acids at 25 °C. Soluble in H3PO3 > 150 °C

 

Application

 

Used in epitaxial thin films, non-epitaxial thin films and substrate. Mainly used in making optical glass parts and optical fibers for electronic industry. Also often used in ceramic industry and catalysts. Due to its dielectric properties it is also posses properties for low-loss microwave and dielectric resonance applications.
