Application
Barium acetate is used as a chemical reagent, textile mordant and lubricant. It is used to prepare other acetates and barium carbonate. It acts as a mordant for printing textile fabrics. It is utilized for drying paints and varnishes. It serves as a catalyst in organic synthesis. It plays an important role in the separation of glycosaminoglycans. Further, it acts as a cationization agent for sensitive multiple reaction monitoring of plasma free fatty acid profiling in a fish oil human intervention. In addition, it is used in the process of titrating sulfates of quinine and quinidine in nonaqueous conditions.
