Strontium fluoride properties
White powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in hydrochloric acid, insoluble in hydrofluoric acid, ethanol and acetone. It is a cubic crystal system, stable in air, and can be decomposed by strong acids. Density 4.24, melting point 1473℃, boiling point 2489℃. In the air >1000℃ converted to strontium oxide.
Strontium fluoride method of synthesis
An excess of 40% hydrofluoric acid was placed in a platinum dish, to which a little strontium carbonate was added. The resulting precipitate was separated by dumping and washed with water, then evaporated to dry on a hot plate. Then it was heated to 150℃ and dehydrated in vacuum to obtain strontium fluoride crystals. It can also be prepared by other methods.
Strontium fluoride application
Can be used to manufacture optical glass and laser single crystal. Can also be used in pharmaceutical industry and daily chemical industry, such as toothpaste caries additives, flux, advanced electronic components. It is also used in pharmaceutical and other fluoride substitutes.
Strontium fluoride safety
Plastic woven bags lined with plastic bags, each bag net weight 25kg, or each set of bags net weight 1000kg. Should be stored in a ventilated, dry warehouse, not with acid storage mixed transport. Handle with care during loading and unloading to prevent packing damage. It is an inorganic toxic substance, hazardous code number GB 6.1 class 61513. Wash with water when in contact with skin. In case of invasion, rinse with warm water. Gastric lavage with 2% calcium chloride and intravenous calcium gluconate were used for poisoning by ingestion. Wear work clothes, protective mask and latex gloves during operation to prevent inhalation of aluminum fluoride dust. The production equipment should be sealed and the workshop should be well ventilated. For protection against hydrofluoric acid during acid production, see hydrofluoric acid; Protection against strontium fluoride can also be referred to barium fluoride.
Strontium fluoride storage
Keep the caches tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry place
