Technical Description of tantalum carbide powder


Nano tantalum carbide powder and ultrafine tantalum carbide powder are prepared by gas phase method with variable current laser ion beam. The powder has uniform particle size, easy dispersion, hard and heavy quality, high chemical stability, good high temperature performance, strong oxidation resistance and high electrical conductivity.  Density 14.5g/cm3, melting point 38750C, boiling point 55000C.

Nano tantalum carbide superfine powder is an important metal ceramic material, as to suppress alloy grain growth and improve the organizational structure for the main purpose and added TaC, NbC, Cr2C3, VC and other rare metal carbides, whether it is a production of coarse grain such as mining tools or round rods ultrafine grain alloy, should choose low particle size of rare metal carbides,  Due to the addition of rare metal carbide is trace, it only plays a role in regulating the size of WC and improving the organizational structure, therefore, it is hoped that the finer the additive dispersion effect is better.

Especially for ultra-fine grain alloys such as round rods, if the additive is too coarse, the alloy clamp will be formed, which is certainly not suitable.


Application of tantalum carbide powder


1.Nano tantalum carbide, ultrafine tantalum carbide powder used in powder metallurgy, cutting tools, fine ceramics, chemical vapor deposition, hard wear alloy additives, improve the toughness of alloy;


2.Nano tantalum carbide powder and ultrafine tantalum carbide powder can be used as grain refiner of tungsten based cemented carbides, which can obviously improve the properties of the alloy.
