The development of rare earth optical functional materials technology and industry

The 2020 Annual Meeting of Optical Functional Materials Branch of China Rare Earth Industry Association and technology Industry Development Seminar was held.

China Rare Earth Industry Association Optical Functional Materials Branch 2020 Annual Conference and Technology Industry Development Seminar was held in Xiamen, Fujian province from December 14 to 16.More than 90 people, including representatives from member enterprises of optical functional Materials Branch and representatives from universities and research institutes engaged in Rare-earth optical functional materials research and development, attended the meeting.

The conference was hosted by The Optical Functional Materials Branch of China Rare Earth Industry Association and Rare-Earth New Materials Co., LTD, the chairman unit of the branch, and hosted by Xiamen Rare Earth Materials Research Institute of Haxi Academy of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Yang Wenhao, Secretary-General of China Rare Earth Industry Association and Huang Xiaowei, chief expert of Youyan Science and Technology Group attended the conference and delivered a speech.The secretariat of China Rare Earth Industry Association will send representatives to attend and provide services for the conference.

The conference invited 10 industry experts to give excellent presentations on the academic, technical and industrial fields.The report covers a variety of fields, including laser phosphors, full-spectrum LED phosphors, rare earth laser crystals, rare earth luminescent materials for biomedical applications, rare earth long afterglow materials, rare earth optical film, rare earth scintillating materials, OLED and Mini LED, etc. The report is rich in content and wonderful. It closely follows the industrial development and technological frontier, and is highly praised by the participants.Professor Liu Ronghui, president of optical Functional Materials Branch and deputy general Manager of Rare-earth Materials Research Institute, Mr. Wu Hong, secretary general of the branch, And Dr. Yu Jinqiu, deputy secretary general of the Branch and deputy director of rare-earth Luminescent Materials Business Division chaired the meeting respectively.

The experts and scholars at the meeting had in-depth exchanges on the application requirements and development trends of rare earth optical functional materials, and especially discussed the development prospects and urgent problems of some cutting-edge technologies and industrial directions in the field of optical functional materials.This meeting further agglomerates the consensus of the industry, university, research and application circles in the field of rare earth optical functional materials to drive the future industrial development through innovation, which will surely play a positive role in the high-quality integrated development of rare earth optical functional materials technology and industry during the 14th five-year Plan period.
