China's exports of magnesium products fell by more than three percent in May, and exports of magnesium ingots fell by 26%

    Data from the General Administration of Customs showed that China exported 25,400 tons of magnesium products in May 2020, down 33.5 percent month-on-month and 27.6 percent year-on-year.Since March, China's exports of magnesium ingots and downstream magnesium products have continued to decrease due to the impact of the overseas epidemic. According to SMM research, a magnesium ingot manufacturer in Fugu region said that only a small number of transactions in Japan, South Korea and Europe in May, and most export orders for magnesium ingot were postponed or cancelled.The export reduction of magnesium powder and magnesium alloy is more serious. Most of the current production of magnesium powder and magnesium alloy plants mainly depends on the demand of domestic downstream steel mills, pharmaceutical factories and die casting factories, so over 70% of the downstream processing plants have reduced production.


    China's exports of magnesium ingot in May 2020 were 16,128.22 tons, down 26% month-on-month and 17% year-on-year.The export amount of magnesium ingots was us $3,555,500, and the average price was US $2,192.15, down 2.8% month on month and 12% year on year. From January to May, 102,600 tons of magnesium ingots were exported, up 0.26% from the same period last year.
