China rare earth export quantity weakens from March to April 2021 and export value keeps rising

On April 18, 2021, the General Administration of Customs released the export value of major commodities in March, 2021.In March 2021, a total of 9,081 tons of rare earth and its products were exported, worth $264,475 million, up 0.2 percent and 25.8 percent compared with the same period in 2020, the data showed.

In March 2021, exports of rare earth amounted to 4,837 tons with an export value of US $582.78 million, a 12.9 percent decrease and a 7.3 percent increase compared with the same period last year.From the data, we can see that the economic situation in 2021 is already much better than the same period last year, and the impact of the epidemic has largely dissipated.

On May 18, 2021, the General Administration of Customs released the export value of major commodities in April 2021.In April 2021, a total of 8,551 tons of rare earth and its products were exported, worth $300,763,000, up 0.1 percent and 49.5 percent compared with the same period in 2020, the data showed.From January to April, a total of 33,329 tons of rare earth and its products were exported, with a value of 103,848.4 tons. Compared with the same period in 2020, the export volume increased by 16.3% and the export value increased by 50.7%.

In April 2021, exports of rare earth amounted to 3,737 tons with an export value of US $54.497 million, a 13.4 percent decrease and a 66.4 percent increase compared with the same period last year.From January to April, a total of 15,642 tons of rare earth were exported, with a value of 19,164.4 tons. Compared with the same period in 2020, the export volume increased by 1.9% and the export value increased by 47.9%.It can be seen from the data that foreign support factors for rare earth prices are beginning to weaken, which will have an impact on prices.
