Aluminium bromide is any chemical compound with the empirical formula AlBrx. Aluminium tribromide is the most common form of aluminium bromide.

Solubility in water:very soluble, partially hydrolyses indicated by a fuming solution

Solubility:slightly soluble in methanol, diethyl ether, acetone

Crystal structure:Monoclinic, mP16 (anhydrous)


Application


Aluminum bromide can be used in the manufacture of flame retardants.
